If you have a look round the back of the machine, you might find the rubber hose is clamped onto a plastic spigot. You can buy a complete new hose and connect it on here. In an emergency you might be able to put the longer half of old hose in here, if it will reach the sink.

There are ways of mending the old hose but you will be really disappointed if it comes apart and squirts soapy water all over the house.

You can buy an extra-long hose. There are appliance parts shops in most towns that sell this kind of spares, but electrical retailers will also get them.

When you are trying to push hoses on, if they're tight, you can lube them with washing up liquid, though I'm told these eventually perish the rubber and you ought to use a silicon grease from the appliance shop or plumbers merchant.

Thank John for your quick reply.
I will look for one tomorrow.

cheers
