Yep good choices!

What about bangers mash and beans, with a big dollop of english mustard.

Whenever I'm away from home, I miss that terribly, cravings and everything! :D

2x King Prawn Jalfrezi (from my local tandoori) Bombay spuds, Tarka Dall, mushroom Bhaji, Okra, Mixed vegetable curry, Pilau Rice, Plain /Keema Nan. Saturday night, kids in bed, few kingfisher beers, eat remainder on Sunday morning, total heaven (and the frisson of possible food poisoning on Sunday afternoon !!)

AKA the CocoPops effect: even turns the swimming water brown.

Anyway, back to the food debate!

Most Chinese / Malaysian food as cooked by wife ... Dim-sum ! Peking duck, oyster sauce & pancakes. Malaysian curry mmmmm ! All served by lady wearing Cheongsam ... ;)
Sometimes just plain white rice in the old rice cooker ( if you like rice .. get one )

BUT NEVER EVER Durian, That fruit actually smells like sewerage !!

pipme:have you tried indonesian food such as nasi goring etc.....the herbs & spices make the dishes that consist of brains/stomachs/heads taste rather nice.this is coz its a 3rd world country so meat is meat no matter where from the animal it came!

Nasi Goreng is my fav from the Chinese! Not sure I like the sound of the ethnic version... :D

Hey, sounds like a bit of a cook in here, my kind of forum. Well it is DIY surely not !! Ever tried Burmese curry, very hot !! But actually having gone well past the burn my brains out stage, love all types of curry, apart from kormas. Used to work in Stockley Park London, v near to southall, so have eaten "authentic" curry as well. I must admit I'm addicted. Thing is about my local Indian curry house, I love the fact that the dishes are not coloured like poster paints, you can identify the meat, and it is made for you. Good stuff, can't wait till Saturday.

A few years back I was on holiday in cyprus, we were staying at family friends house and the people were greek cypriots.

Julie commented that I had a meal called stiffado which I enjoyed whilst on corfu. When I got back that night the lady had made me the said meal as a surprise. I started eating and said it tasted different than last time I had it, The lady said it is cyprus stiffado we use rabbit, in greece they use veal or lamb. I hope you enjoy it,I've had that rabbit for years! it was the pet rabbit she had given me.

Favourite food treat for me, after a good fillet, is thai.
