You can see how very close to the neighbour's wall the trench is. PWA aside, any builder with an IQ more than three would have done that in short stretches, say 1m long, as you do with underpinning.
 
Yeah, we had to do a stage pour a couple of years back, due to proximity to the neighbouring building. We had one of those collapses in my Ma's street whereby the entire gable collapsed.

Our local BC won't take chances since then and insist on stage pours (rightly so), where proximity is a problem.

Scary innit. :eek:
 
Work carried out by a "family friend" who's not a builder.

Wonder is he up for re-building the entire wing?
