Don't you just hate it when your watching Virgin Media channel in standard definition when you have a V+ box that has the same channel in high definition!!!

Even worse when your on backup cos you went for a wee or something or made a coffee so if you change to the HD channel you lose like 5 minutes!!!

In this age of technology dont ya think a simple message would pop up saying this channel is also available in HD!!

Don't get that problem with sky digital
Jacked that in a couple of months ago since my kiddies were watching too much drivel, and we (parents) reflected on the fact that 90+% of what we watched was on terrestial anyway.

Keep watching in standard def then when the ads come on, swap to HD and you'll be back on track.

erm....thats good advice if you ever realise your in standard def, but what if you paused it and have several minutes on backup, then you have no option but to keep watching in SD and when adverts come on FFW and maybe it takes more than 1 set of adverts to catch up, haha mad!!

Is this what life has come to? ;)

I hear ya, people starving 3rd world all that stuff, see ya point but I pay a lot of money for my Virgin service but are they gonna re-write their V+ box software just for me, exactly no! so while it may seem trivial to some..

I don't have an HDTV so it's a waste of time subscribing to VM HD. I still have one of those CRT Tv's sat in the corner which we can watch (until it goes wrong) When it does break down, I will be looking at one of these flat screen jobbies that's all singing all dancing, but won't upgrade to VM's HDTV service.
Anyways, the benefit of having such a tv means , I don't have to have my central heating on as much (the tv keeps the room at a nice temperature, as does my computer) And I don't have to pay VM an extra £20 a month for HD channels. Sod the catchup TV, there's always BBC i Player or the catch up tv offered on the VM menu. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
