One for @crank39 In the process of fixing my jammed UPVC multipoint locking system, I have just spotted another slight problem....

Inside one of the door handle, there is like a plastic frame, with four springs, which bear onto a metal part. The metal part has a square hole for the spindle. Idea is, the springs help force the handle back to horizontal, after it has been operated. The metal part has broken, and I wonder if just the broken metal part, or the entire plastic frame might be available as a replacement part, rather than buy and replace the entire gold door handle? Not solid gold of course, the solid gold ones are only on the front door ;)

Failing that, I could maybe make a matching part, from a bit of steel.

Just google search for spring cassette and you'll get plenty to choose from, most if not all new handles come with them now but be careful as they are made to fit inside each individual handle, so measure your old one and compare with the new one, they all work the same but some have 2, 3 or 4 springs

Their so cheap that spare parts are not available
