I need a doorway cutting through structural wall, however, access to the far side of the wall may be unavailable due to the prior construction of a block partition wall.

Is it possible to safely support the wall from one side only, without the need for needles?

Rather than a lintel, are complete structural doorframes available?

you can get a fitting to go on top of an acro which will allow you to support the wall from one side only. that should do the trick as long as the acro you're using is rated OK for the type of wall you're supporting. :D

don't know about structural door frames - never heard of one.

Best of luck.

No, you must use a lintel to protect the side door frame.

Thanks.

Have been told I need a STRONGBOY WALL SUPPORT to go with the acros.
Lintels it is then...

I won't be doing this myself & it will be checked by a Building Control Officer.
