Hi, I’m new here, hoping someone can help. I recently acquired a building with this alarm attached. I assumed it was dead, but last night it started screeching at random intervals, and is continuing today. It’s extremely annoying and not the greatest way to introduce myself to my new neighbours!

There is no manual, and I simply want to disconnect it, as I really don’t need an alarm system. Short of taking a substantial hammer to it is there any simple way of doing this? I tried disconnecting the power supply,But it didn’t work, so I assume it has a battery somewhere.

TIA for any response.

Remove all power, mains and battery back up.
Thanks, but in practical terms how do I do this? As I said, I tried switching off the mains supply, but it carried on anyway, presumably via its battery. I'm happy to remove the battery, but where would it be situated?

OK, I've opened the panel, and found what's described as a lead acid battery inside. I've disconnected this by removing the wires from the terminals, but it's still screeching away. I suspect there must be another battery inside the alarm box itself, but it's high on a wall, and I don't have a ladder. I've therefore given in and contacted a local security firm who are coming to deal with it.

Thanks for your time anyway.

no power to the panel (mains/ battery) = no power to the bell (except its battery) should result in it stopping eventually, modern bells that would be around 15/20 minutes.

as disconnecting the power hasnt worked only option is to disconnect at the bell box.
