I personally cant think of anyone who has used foilbacked for dot and dabbin' I used it when I first did it, but the guy who I was doing it for (who introduced me to dot and dabbing) unibonded the foil back and stuck polystyrene sheets on to it. We stacked the boards on top of each other and left them a week to stick. Then when they were ready I used "multi purpose adhesive to stick them to his walls...
I have 2 sets of reveals to do, one has cavity closers (new opening) the other doesn't (new windows fitted to replace old with turned blocks and vertical DPC). Got a sheet of foil backed lying around so thought might be worth using but the foil isn't exactly well stuck on these boards so looks dodgy to me for D&D.
