hi
i need a few new units i rang a local installer and they told me that the thickness of my units cannot be right at 10mm . I know the windows were put in a long time ago but there is nothing at all wrong with them. Can anyone enlighten me if this thickness is still used regards

Take a unit out if you can and measure its total thickness. Any decent glass factory should be able to match it

glass is 4mm each side so that would leave 2mm for spacer - minimum spacer thickness available is 6mm as far as i am aware.
glass is available 3mm but not used for sealed units as far as i am aware.

If it's a 10mm gap & a window it must be quite an age. Still no way to tell how thick the glass is though. 4mm is the commonest, but you do get thicker. Measuring the total thickness of the unit is the only safe way to go.
