Double or single check valve - what's the difference?

Anybody know the difference between this: http://www.screwfix.com/prods/96336/Plumbing/Brassware/Flowflex-15mm-Double-Check

and this: http://www.screwfix.com/prods/14639/Plumbing/Pegler-Brassware/Pegler-Single-Check-Valve-15mm

Without pulling it apart I'd guess the double has 2 check valves built in to it for more secure operation.
