Double Pole Isolator

Hi,

I need to get an isolator fitted between the meter and consumer unit as a prelude to getting someone in to sort out my consumer unit.

I'm in Leeds and get electricity from British Gas. Can anyone tell me if I need to contact BG or Northern Power Grid (new YEDL) and does anyone have the direct line to the relevant department or do I need to go via the switchboard and the long fight.

You don't.

as a prelude to getting someone in to sort out my consumer unit.

Let them deal with it - they may be perfectly happy to just pull the fuse.

You can contact a meter operator 0113 232 547 to install and isolator, but it is not really that necessary.
You will find that your electrician will get by without an isolator in place.
