Hi,
I have a small alcove that I would like to create a a false ceiling for. In this ceiling I would like to install down lighters (pref. 240V). There is an existing ceiling, however I have a flat roof which makes wiring a bit of a headache.
There is no existing switches close by, therefore I was considering using the existing wall plug to power the down lighters.
What type of wiring would i have to use (heavy duty or will flex wire work), and is it possible to put a switch on the wire so that I may switch it on or off. I will only be building space for two down lighters, but the wall plug is attached to a multiplug that also powers a LCD tv and various other devices.(max 4 devices)
I have attached an image to illustrate my dilemma, apologies for poor drawing.
