Hi I’m having a problem locating a leak on a downpipe coming out from the bathroom, it goes down into a bend which is incased in a box I assume is wood and all sealed around it as it goes through a roof of a carport, I believe that the leak is on a collar inside of the box, I’ll post a couple of photos that I took from above and below. I think it should be easy taking the box apart once it’s exposed and I believe the leak should be an easy fix, my questions are. 1, who do I seal the roof all up once it’s all repaired and what’s an easy quick fix for the leak? All help would be most appreciated. Cheers, Phil

If you have trouble locating the leak you could try putting s coloured dye in the water....

edit… this is leaking every time water is turned on in the bathroom or the chain is flushed, this is not leaking through the roof itself

OK, sorry. Leaking when toilet is flushed and from bath/wash basin, suggests it is perhaps backing up from below. Check where that pipe drain to, the manhole is clear..

Other possibility, is the seals have failed on those smaller pipes, where they enter the down pipe. Which likely means removing that box, to access it.

Looks like a right bodge! If you can find which of the pipes are leaking then you might be able to connect the two together.
