downpipe cost!

Hi lads & ladettes!

I want to install a downpipe from the gutter into our waste pipe! The gutter is under strain, there is only one downpipe servicing 3 houses. Our house is on the opposite side!
I had a guy look at it friday & he said the only option is to put a downpipe into the waste pipe to allow the rainwater to flow off... He quoted 300euro 1st but after seeing my reaction he said he would do it for 200euro if i rang him today!
How much should this cost!!!

Sounds a bit on the steep side, but I don't think we're even allowed to do this any more over here.
