Sorry to hear that, but I hope you, and all the others who read this, will realise that changing the pump is NOT the first thing to do. In your case you can feel good because it was self-inflicted. In many cases it is a rip-off money making exercise by unscrupuless "professionals.
Do you have thermostatic valves on your radiators?
If you do can you provide a list of the settings in each of the rooms?
If you don't, try turning the upstairs radiators off.
