Dpc in hearth

Hi can anyone advise me on my project
See pics which show current position. I plan to build the hearth back up to floor level with brick and then infill with concrete. However I am unsure how to install damp membrane. There is a bitumin doc installed 2 course down (where I'm pointing too)
