Builder has asked me to check whether the window fitter did / didn’t need to install a damp proof course detail between where the bay window frame abuts the wall, wrapped around the external leaf of brickwork and into the cavity.
They have painted a liquid DPM on the internal edge of the outer leaf of brickwork before we installed the plasterboard to reduce the likelihood of damp ingress.
Is it normal to have DPMs on windows? Why would a bay window be different?
Thanks.
