We have a large drive sloping towards the house. The concrete is being replaced with block paving. The builder seems to be placing the strip drains next to the house wall (ie all the water will run down the drive towards the house) With the old concrete path and drive the path sloped away from the brickwork, is the new drain system OK.
many thanks

Why can't he do the same as it was, have the drains away from the house wall. Never good to fall towards the property. Tell him now before he carries on. And where is this drain going?

You should always fall away from a building unless you have no choice. The fact that it was previously falling away seems to imply there is another option than linear drains along the wall.
