I have a concern about a drain at the front right of our house. This drain was blocked up beyond the U-Bend so I had a guy come and unblock it. I watched the entire process whereby he jetted it to remove the blockage, nothing unusual there. But what he revealed was that the drain is not holding any water - it looks to be draining directly into the ground beneath it.

My concern is that, presumably, the water is therefore putting pressure on the damp proof course of the house and water is seeping down into the ground where the foundations would be?
Where does it go after this?

Is this an urgent job requiring an urgent fix? And best way to go about seeking out people for the job

We moved into this house three weeks ago so have just discovered this.

Is it broken at the bottom? Where does the drain go to?

could it be a small pipe coming in from about 4 oclock, using top of picture as 12 o clock? otherwise cannot work out what is at the bottom of that drain. If you change it then you would need a soakaway installing, lots of digging and mess for that option.

Our drains are connected to a site drainage which goes off site to the sewers (or whatever its called) - so I don't think I need a soakaway?

The drain goes to a U-bend which goes to drainage off site under the road somewhere
