drainage for pea shingle / stones in garden

Hi guys,

Quick question regarding leaving a gap of say 10cm from the wall of the house to the our paving slabs, i'm looking to fill this gap with either pea shingles or similar stones, its below the damp course.

This is fine right? I'm looking to leave approx 10cms or more because there are pipe works near the wall and its very easy to just just fill it with stones than cut every stone slab piece.

Shingle is fine as long it is lower than the paving or it will go every where.

Make sure you get the right stuff, the weeds came through ours
