Drains

Hi all, hope there is a knowledgeable drains person out there and able to advise. Can I connect a foul Gulley to an adjacent Soil pipe? Do building regs. allow this.?

Please see sketch. In order to keep shower waste separate from hand basin in my proposed downstairs bathroom I thought of feeding both wastes into a gulley then connecting to soil. It would save running another pipe into Inspection chamber.

The answer to your question is yes - providing you follow the normal rules and restrictions for any type of waste connection - but why keep them separate?

Thanks John. I thought separate otherwise hand basin waste would come up through shower plug hole. What do you suggest?
