Hi all.
Have a customer who had a couple of these which have fallen apart.
Has anyone seen anything similar before.
They are approx 2 years old!

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion the quality has deteriorated significantly in the last few years. I have had a number just come to pieces, apparently in the same way as yours, with the adjusting knob detaching from the body. After 30+ years of their being my favourite TRV I no longer fit them.

1. Danfoss or Pegler. Seem fine but have only been using for a couple of years.
2. You can just replace the head by undoing at the knurled metal ring. But:
2.1 The heads are quite expensive.
2.2 Unless the quality improves, you may have the same problem in a few years.

Might be better for the OP to spend an extra £6 and get the TRV as well as a new lock shield valve.

not if they are looking at a 30 second job instead of draindown etc with additional hassles

Ah, right. I was getting this thread confused with another one where the OP didn’t have a head for his TRV as well as having a seized lockshields. I'd already replied to that one but thought he'd posted twice in different sections.
