DRIED GLUE ON CARPET

I move into a new apartment and found glue on the carpet, not sure what it is, any ideas how to remove?.

if it is glue you could cut the offending piece off with a sharp stanley knife,just cut along the bottom of the glue,you could also try a solvent cleaner,but be sure to check if this would spoil your carpet
