I've almost completed the porcelain tiles in the bathroom.
The wall where the shower screen needs to be fitted is a stud wall. Before fitting tile backer boards I inserted timber noggins corresponding to where I anticipated I'd need to screw the shower screen vertical hinge and marked the adjacent door frame with the noggin centres.
Turns out the position of two of the three studs coincide with tiles joints. I anticipate that the shower screen will require 6mm or 8mm holes to be drilled.
Is it problematic drilling the grout joints between porcelain tiles or does it make the task easier.
At my disposal I have 2 x 8mm wax filled diamond tipped bits. 1 x 4mm and 1 x 6mm carbide tipped multipurpose drill bits and various sizes of standard masonry bits.

These are good if you have a powerful electric drill. No problem drilling the joints.

What's even better are the bits which fit to an angle grinder. When I started using one it was a game changer, won't go back to using the drill ones

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that option. Are there also adapters to use diamond drill bits on angle grinders?

Much appreciated. I'll give that a try.

Anything over 10mm in Porcelain i personally would use a diamond tipped hole cutter in my drill.
For your Screen fitting i would use a 6mm spade, and not on too high a speed. Get a packet of 10 from Amaz, and use one per hole. And you've won a watch by getting some to land in grout lines
