Is the outlet syphoning, or set too low, or is the drain pump running when it shouldn't?
Washing machines often rely on the routing of the outlet hose to stop the water draining unintentionally.
In the UK, at least, there is often a clip on the back of the machine to hold the outlet hose at what the machine manufacturers consider the correct height. If the hose isn't engaged in the clip, the highest point on the outlet may drop below the water level in the machine, and start to syphon.
