I signed up to this site just to ask you this
I have an iqon pc from tesco and have done a clean install of xp and formatted everything else like you. My sound is not there at all so where did you get the drivers from? The link would be great or closest to what you can remember it being.

You probably should have started a new thread, given the age of this one.

If you read back a few posts and use SISOFT SANDRA to identify the motherboard, that will help.

If it's an MSI, you might find the drivers here

Had the same problem after a reinstall. My model has a Foxconn Motherboard. Their website
http://www.foxconnchannel.com/support/downloads.aspx
has audio and video drivers for all their Intel and AMD boards.

If you are unable to find a link to your particular system drivers you may want to follow the instructions in This Link

The tutorial will take you through the process of identifying your system drivers and suggest how to find and download them.

Did you not get any software disc's with the PC, you should have at least had the motherboard disc, and the drivers for the onboard sound, graphics etc should be on this disc.

Look for the file called UNATTEND.txt - the drivers might be in there.
