Driveway lighting

Im having a new block paved driveway soon and I'd like to have a few soft lights either set into the blockwork or into the edging stones around the perimeter to assist with parking in the dark.

Is there any useful info I should know about suitable lighting to achieve this, such as timers, correct lights, good suppliers etc?

Unless you are using solar power I would suggest talking to a local electrician, as this would come under the dreaded "PART P"
