Morning guys , ive been thinking of transforming half of my slopped front garden into a driveway,,The house its self is stepped down bellow the foot path and side road.. and the back over looks the water..so for the sake of looking out the front window and seeing a brick wall does not bother me..

What im proposing is lowering the kerb and build a raised platform weather it be long enough to hold car straight in or side on, it doesnt bother me i just want off the street parking...there is another 2 houses in the same street 10 and 12 houses along from ours..one has a small side on drive other has actually built a garage ...

Would i need planning or can i just go ahead and piledrive skakes to take the weight.. see picture attached for ref...

PS. im in Scotland..

I would guess you will soon find out what permission you need when you apply to the council for a dropped kerb.

Can't say I would want to look out of my front window at a solid block wall but each to their own!

not realy looking out the front window at a brick wall ...i have ever green trees that will hide most of it..and the couch is a corner unit that runs infront of the window as we have bifold doors at look out onto the water.:) ive asked council for permission to lower kerb and was given a bill of £600 to do that, no other information was given on the main job,, the council up here are a joke..

Personaly i would prefer the stilt option with a beam platform so i dont have the brickwall to look at ,,
this is the view from by bifold doors..
