We have some French doors which have 'drooped'. Right above the middle of the two doors where they close together you can see a gap and daylight! They were installed years ago by the previous owner so are no longer under guarantee. Is this something that could be fixed by any Window company and roughly how much would it cost to fix?

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I found a solution to this that might help someone else.

The solution was to remove plastic caps from the bottom side of the hinges which allowed me to use allen keys to adjust each hinge individually. By doing this I was able to pull each door in and up a bit, so fixing the droop! It was actually very easy in the end so I'm glad I didn't spend money on calling out a window company for an easy job.

They'll need "toe-and-heeling".

Do a search on here for Toe and Heel. There's been loads of posts about it in the past. Basically you need to remove the glazing beads and check that the glazing packers are correctly located in opposite corners. In doing this you throw the weigh of the glass unit over onto the hinge side of the door which should stop them dropping again if done correctly.

concur with Glassman.

packers can be installed in such a way as to make the door difficult to drop.
