Dropping pressure on a worcester bosch 24cdi

Hi gents,
The pressure is dropping in my boiler, I guess I have to bleed it some. I have the plastic T shaped key. Could someone give me a mini walk through guide for the process? Should I switch the boiler off, how I go about bleeding the boiler..am I gonna need a bucket?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Re-pressurising The System

Switch boiler off always

Remove the bottom panel to gain access to the filling loop assembly.

Insert the bayonet end of the filling key into the corresponding cut outs in the filling loop housing andtwist to lock the key in place.

Turn the grey knob anti-clockwise to allow wateringress and fill until the required pressure is reached.

Turn the grey knob clockwise to stop filling and remove the filling key by lining up the bayonet end ofthe key with the cut outs in the filling loop housing and withdrawing the key.N.B. The key must always be removed from the filling loop housing after the system has been filled to prevent accidental filling.

I though I was having a similar problem here but now I am losing 1 bar in 2 hours!

Any ideas where to start - I can't get a plumber til Thursday and I have to take the wife to hospital then!

Any help is greatly appreciated...

you need to be checking for leaks, also look outside to see if the safety vent pipe is dripping

yea check ouside, they always leak from there, you may need to replace the pressure rel valve, about £7.00

Instructions for repressuriseing are on the back of the front cover.

alun, if no water is outside where the blow off discharges, look for leaks above the floor for that amount of drop it must be large. If its just started it may be a cracke heating pipe under the floor.

if you need help to re-fill the boiler read my post higher up or as COG says they may be on the back of the panel

Thanks guys - will check for outside probs. I think its going to be a pressure relief valve though as after lots of examination I have heard a slight hissing sound from the combi unit...

everytime i reach 110 there is a strange noise, like a woshing as if someone is swinging something. I replaced all the tyres with pirellis, still the same tho. Its going in for its service on friday at the main dealer and the noise is worse when i turn the corner. It is still under warr. its only on the front right wheel. the discs are brand new. I have done 12,000 miles from new i fear it may be a bearing... i have thrown the car around a little in the country roads, it may be my driving thats caused it??

I'm assuming the handle is related to the car...

If a Porsche is giving you grief like that its most likely the tyres. Porsche suspension can really take the knocks - I did 50K in my 944 with no probs.

The best answer I can give is to enrol at http://www.pistonheads.com and ask at the forums but the noises you are suggesting sound like either bodywork/aero or tyres.

I've got an elise now so I know what noises whilst driving are like I also FULLY understand what kind of noises you can create if you throw it about!!!

Also remeber that to service a car like that is PLENTY of cash so make sure they tet drive before and after to resolve the fault.

Oh and I've just lost 1.3 to 0.9 bar and no water is coming out of the external overflow...

As a funny aside - 1 guy won a competition in a saudi airport for a 911 and he began to get confused about a strange noise at speed. Apparently the car was setup to emit a Gong sound at 70mph to warn you you were breaking the limit...

lol... mine is a boxster 3.2 but i have been as fast as 168 mph and never noticed any noise, its just in the past few days...

like i said porsche are servicing it on friday, but i wanna know what it may be just to put my mind at rest... i aint bothered what ever the cost is it will be repaired, just would like to know so i can at least brag i know something about car repairs when i go..
yer i know its going to cost £370 plus vat but at least i know they do a good job ...
you have a 944, i used to have one its was red, what a machine that was. I sold it for £4,000 it was in exellent condition i wanted alot more for it. piston heads i was a member but i found a boxster forum instead

My point was that if you pay that kind of cash for a service make sure they do what they are supposed to... I get the liz serviced a t local specialist who test drives and cares about the quality. previously it ws serviced main dealer who only noticed potental problems AFTER the service hence haing to cough up another £50+ per hour to find out if they were unfounded or not.

Tended to find that PH was just about having a TVR or not so now just enjoy it without forum backup.

My 944 was a 2.7 which I bought for £8k did 50K in 2 year then sold for £5.5K - I nealry cried when she went - best car ever. the liz out performs in so many ways but its not as rounded (but neither am I so it kind of suits )

Whooshing at speed tends to be wind noise related in some way but you seem to be wise enough to have spotted that kind of thing yourself. Bearings tend to sound like someone rubbing concrete against an angle grinder - the kind of noise which makes you stop!!!
