hope this will help some people solve this curse in w/m ariston swd1000uk
my drum stopped spinning intermittently so checked brushes bt of life in them but replaced anyways, first 3 washes top notch then drum stopped spinning again zilch so stripped out pcboard seen dry solder on plug resoldered not easy,then sprayed all with switch spray,all back together and voila m/c running tiptop as good as new and its 11yrs old was just about to buy new but think i have gained a few more years??
