Hi can anyone help. I have a hotpoint Aquarius dryer. Model number ctd40. It's making a strange noise and the drum is not turning. Any advice appreciated. Thank you

If you can hear the motor turning, its quite likely that the drive belt, that circles the drum, has snapped or come off.
Reach inside and check that you can turn the drum by hand.
Access usually isn't too bad on dryers - sometimes the top just comes off, others the top and sides are integral.

Thank u for reply. Yes the drum turns by hand. Il order a drive belt and try and do it myself. Wish me luck ha
