Hey guys.
This is my first post here, on what looks like a great board. I’m a bit of a numpty when it comes to decorating and building, but I’m hoping some of you will be able to give me some valuable advice with our ongoing diy dilemmas.
Anyway, the advice I was after today regards our “conservatory”(for want of a better word, although it’s more of a utility room). It’s a lean to, single skin dwarf wall, the interior of which has been tilled straight onto the brickwork with the most hideous tiles you ever saw. (by the previous owners I should add), not only are they hideous but also higgledy piggledy What I would like to do is “dry line” the wall with plaster board. Maybe even taking advantage of the space between the wall and the plaster board to stick in some isolation.
So…Is this possible, and how easy would it be, or should I be doing something else, if so what? Do I need to remove the hideous tiles? Can I stick the plaster board to the bare bricks/tiles or should I batten them out from the bricks. Is there anything else I need to be thinking about before I do this? Quite simply what's my best option to make it nice and get lots of browine points of the wifey?
All advice welcome.
Regards
