Yes they are likely fixed adequately.
We drill and washer fix the ridge ends and we use ridge support trays, when going up a hip.

As above hip support trays make for a much neater finish.

I've used dry ridge and dry verge systems, but I've got an issue with the longevity of plastic when exposed to the punishing heat of summer. I know the manufacturers claim that it's unaffected by UV exposure, but in just two years, my black plastic profiles are greying, which might indicate that they're also becoming brittle. Watch this space...
