Hi,

I have a newly built concrete prefab garage. I want to board it out using a material which I can fit cupboards etc too so am thinking MDF or even chipboard.

Can dry wall adhesive be used to direct bond MDF or chipboard to the concrete?

Recommendations please.

My guess is no..plus you might end up with problems if its a single skin wall if you go straight onto it...try the plastering or building sections for a bit more advice

definatly not mdf or chipboard unless you can gaurentee no wet or damp

i would use 12mm exterior ply then you can hang anything you like where you like without additional battoning on the face

Thanks for the replies.

So are you saying I can direct bond the plywood to the concrete.

I should explain why I am seeking advice. The prefab concrete garage cannot be drilled into the mount any board etc to it so am looking for an alternative.

Thanks

Harry

Definately a building forum issue mate..it should work on the concrete but I not confident that it will stick to the wood given that its going to be in a constantly changing temperature and the wood may contract and expand a little which could cause the blob of adhesive to break off.
