Hi

Had big water leak in 2013 as a result of burst pipe. Flat professionally dried out and completely re - plumbed.

Been back in flat for 8 months and have discovered very damp concrete under the newly laid timber floor.

Ive had another trace and access survey which found no new incident. The floor is drying out naturally - damp meter says the surface is dry but still wet approx 2 mm before surface.

How long should I leave it to dry out? I am using a dehumidifier and it is not picking up much moister. Should I wait until the sub-base reads as dry?

What underlay should I use before relaying the timber floor. I was looking at foam with a plastic sheet element?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Two or three weeks at least. If your floor was laid professionally they should have known better.

Thanks Jeds

Any suggestion on the underlay that should be used when relaying the floor?

Should I await for the floor to be completely dry before relaying it?

Matt
