Hi, i'm about to board ceiling, my question is should I leave a small gap between long edges of adjacent boards (bound edge) as you would do with shorter cut edges when boarding a ceiling, to allow plaster to squeeze between the joints. Also should I leave a gap on the vertical bound edge joints when drylining the walls (dot and dab). Thanks. Steve.''

The guidelines would suggest "lightly butted together and not forced in to place"
I remember when I was a wee boy, that we used to space them using clout nails, not done that for years and never notice any difference between the two methods.
Just don't shoe them in!
