Dual flush button sticking

The dual flush button on my cistern will sometimes stick down. Annoying when on a water meter.

It sticks maybe 1 out of 10 operations. I have checked and it still does it when I have removed it from the cistern lid, so I know it is not catching on the syphon. But I can't see why it is sticking. Any ideas?

Try a quick whiff of WD40 or better silicon spray
