DVD players with HDMI upscaling!

These units are about three times the cost of a cheap basic DVD player.

Does anybody think they give any useful improvement in picture quality?

Upscaling is a heated issue amongst the Audio Video cognescenti. Might be worth checking out this. Good luck.

Upscaling is a trick used to help fill the higher res screen but it doesn't improve quality(at least not to HD), if you want HD then look at HD DVD or Blue Ray.

You cant have what wasnt there in the first place.

Shouldnt this be in Hardware?
