Hi all i'm after a bit of help. I'm starting to build a conservatory and was just deciding the best way of doing things. I have a huge concrete slab on 80% of where the conservatory is going to be going. My qustion is, is it ok to build the dwarf wall on the concrete slab if so what min depth would the slab have to be it's about 400mm deep. the remainder would have footing like normal. Also is it a problem if the slab is running out over 3m it drops 100-150mm can this be built up when building the drawf wall

Many Thanks for your help

i have to ask:

how come you have such a severely sloping, 400mm thick sloping slab?

that's pretty thick! was it an old garage floor?

If you are confident that the slab wont move with the weight on it, and that the edges wont shear when the walls are on it, and that you can install damp prevention, then yes go for it

In practice you would just level up the brickwork and floor.

My only concern is that you say the slab is sloping, and thats OK for the top, but the bottom of the slab should lay level on the ground below it. If the bottom is sloping too, then it increases the rick of it moving
