Can anyone advise on how to remove the switch assembly on these things please? I can prise it away a bit but am afraid to go too far in case I break it. The switch itself is fine...I just need to check a loose wire inside so don't want to break it.

Long thin screwdriver down the inner side of the switch. Give it a waggle while pulling the switch up. You're trying to push a clip in a little.
