Are these the usual scams?

Got a few lately.

had one the other day, from ebay (not) and the link from e mail takes you to log on screen.....but no padlock in bottom corner, so i had me suspicions, but that way they get your log on name and password.
so i typed in a load of abuse ..as you do..and contacted e bay, who said it was a scam. ho hum.

What I do is type in a made-up User name and password, and if you then get onto the next screen (invariably asking for your credit card details) then it is a scam.

Like Willhelm said though, don't expect eBay to show much interest....
