How is the transformer fixed into the light ? Does it have a metal bolt through the middle and then some way that boths ends of this bolt can come into contact with metal work and thus form a short ciruited turn round the transformer's core ? This would cause high current to flow in the primary ( 230 volt ) coil and destroy the transformer.
