Whats your earliest memory?

Mine is being trapped in a dustbin! We were playing hide and seek and I thought it was a good place to hide. Unfortunately I couldn't climb out , and had to wait until somebody found me. I think I was 3 years old at the time
I don't like confined spaces to this day.

Whats your earliest memory.

I remember my little brother being born. Not so little anymore, he's 42 now and I'm just 2 years older.

:( My Mum smacking me because she thought I had pulled a leaf off her rubber plant. The fact it was brown and crispy didn't make much difference to her, but I sure as heck remember her smack. Whenever I want to smack my kids, I force myself to stop and think about what happened to me first.

2 years old: running around the house and slipping as I turned a corner and my upper left cheek bone hitting the corner of a large very sharp and square hi-fi speaker.

Then a very large piece of skin (10cm by 3cm) hanging off my cheek and being rushed to hospital sat on my Mum's knee. Then stitches to hold the skin and muscle back up. It was so severe I still have the scar on my face now, and I always will. Looks kinda cool though, so I've been told.

I still have flashbacks on this one- time to time. My great aunt lived on a farm and being a city kid, it was oodles of fun. Except, this one time, we were sittin on the steps --I was 3 or 4 ....just hangin out...and all of a sudden, she reached down, grabbed a chicken, and wrung it's neck and the body was flappin about and I was in total shock

(she did this alot, come to think of it...I think she thought we enjoyed it)

Are you sure it wasn't at band camp?

Have you seen the film "American Pie"? The character whose picture is above has an annoying but endearing catchphrase: "Like this one time, at band camp..." then describes a really mundane non-event (apart from the last time which involved a flute and a cat).

(Your event is not a non-event, but) you said "This one time": just made me laugh, I love that film and her character.

My Dad's first job was running around after chickens wringing their necks.

well, no I've never seen it. But keep in mind.......we're talking about first memories. i was a city kid and was never around goats, cows, horses, much less chickens. And while it was ordinary and "normal" for my great aunt and uncle........it was pretty traumatic for me!
