Hello,

A few days ago i bonded the oil with 10mm2, however the day after the plumber came in and cut the clamp off and moved the oil incoming supply to the other end of the room.

So now the 10mm2 cable is not long enough. I looked through the regs but i could not find a quote that states the cable cannot be crimped to extend it. Please correct me if i am wrong.

If this is so then i need to run a new cable from the consumer unit to the other end of the house and rip the house apart... again.

all replys and guideance welcome.

You can crimp it using a 10mm through (or butt) crimp, and the correct tool.

When you say moved the pipe....

Your bond needs to be done within 600mm of the pipe entering the building.

Thanks.

When i done the 1st fix i run 10mm2 down to the entry point of the oil supply (within 600mm). However i went back there yestarday and the plumber said he cut the clamp off because he needed to move the oil entry point into the house... so now the cable is 2500mm away.

Thanks for your reply.
