So far, I've tried two different types of epoxy grout (Mapie and Kerakoll) both of which I was informed are considerably better than cement based grout. Firstly, they don't hold on to dirt and grime as much, and are far easy to clean when you needed. My experience of these both are not as good and they are also quite difficult to apply in an almost flush way to the face of the tiles (which are square edged).
I've spoken to various tilers and they all hate working with epoxy grout as it's more difficult to work with and they say the finish isn't as good. The tiler I have says that to get a near flush finish grout to the face of the tile, I would need to use a cement based grout.
My question is, are there any cement based grouts that are much easier to clean than others? I'm thinking of a grout that might give a smooth finish close to what you get with silicone sealing. The tiler has suggested Kerakoll Fugabella Color Grout or Ardex MG as these both set quite hard so could give the flush finish but he wasn't sure about how coarse/smooth the finish was.
Suggestions or advice on this please?
