Easy way to turn on hot water pump from upstairs?

Hi all,

I've a pumped loop for hot water (long distance from tank to shower) - it's currently controlled by a traditional Drayton timer like this: https://www.draytoncontrols.co.uk/products/time-controls/lifestyle/lp111
Is there an easy way to have a switch that I could use remotely from elsewhere in the building?

If you want phone control you could wire a shelly 1 in parallel to your current controller?
Or a RF smart socket with remote and wire the pump directly in?
IKEA also do a socket with a remote button (unsure of range)

...so that the pump would work on a either/or basis

(I didn't know you could wire such things in parallel )

No. You just use it instead of the timer. You can set up a smart plug to come on/off at set times plus override it when you want to. Either through an app or voice command over Alexa.

The Shelly 1 could be wired in parallel. It also supports an on off timer. Only issue is you would have to control it via your phone or Alexa/google.

The smart plug would have to go direct to the pump. However some do support timers for on/off
