Hi, I have an Vaillant ecoTec plus 624 boiler, 3 years old. I have today replaced the main PCB as the diverter valve was not switching- this looks like it has fixed the problem. The question I have is regarding the replacement procedure for this PCB. The instructions that shipped with the PCB indicated that I would need to enter a device specific number for the boiler into d.93 second diagnosis level but the instructions code chart does not show the 624 model! So I have fitted it and it looks like it works ok any way.

1. The part number of the board I fitted is 0020052093
2. Do I need to still try and find and enter a device specific number?
3. Is the boiler ok to use until this number is set or not as the case may be?

Thanks

Paul.

If it works then I would say forget about it!

However, I am a little confused by what you have said.

Surely the 624 is a sysyem heat only boiler???

You are mentioning a diverter valve which would be on a combi but that woud be an 824 ?

The diverter valves fail on those and you may have made an expensive mistake changing the PCB if the fault was the usual styicking diverter valve.

The old sticky one had holes about 4.8 mm whereas the later modificed ones have holes about 6.4 mm.

Thanks Tony, Indeed it is an 824.

I had already replaced the diverter valve but still had the same problem.

You think it should be ok to just let it run now?

Just thinking about performance or safety issues.

Thanks

Paul

D.93 settings

624 = 3
824 = 6

make sure you put in the right code

system boiler is 624
combi boiler is 824

for everyone else the rest are:

612 = 0
615 = 1
618 = 2
630 = 4
637 = 5
831 = 7
837 = 8
pro 24 = 7
pro 28 = 0

don't have the 838 or the 937 codes as yet.

Thats useful Kevin.

When I receive useful information like that, I cut and paste it with an appropriate subject to one of our email addresses which I use to store such things.

Thanks for your replys, Just checked d.93 setting it was already showing a value of 6 so I have left it as is.

Thanks again for your help.

surprised you hadn't got this anyway as i just copied it from P.51 of the manual!!

In that case I will have it but I have not seen my office copy for a few days!

Thanks anyway!

Have you got the codes for the 400 series Kev?

Went to one tonight, a 428, that had d0 as 30 :rolleyes: :eek:

BG replaced the board a few months ago it seems.

thats exactly as they leave the factory.

As DM used to say, it doesn't say much for the skills of BG !

I find it difficult to imagine a house which would need 30 kW of heat. ( apart from mine that is )
