elbow minefield

I've just fitted a new bathroom suite, however my new fancy Itaiano mixer tap has the outlet flow for the shower on the underside.

My problem is the the shower hose screws on well enough but has to turn upward awkwardly further reducing the height at which I could fix the shower head. I do need to replace the hose (1.5m with a 1.75m) but after spending hours trawling the net I can't seem to find an elbow that could screw into the mixer so that the hose could then attach (screw) from the rear?

Any ideas chaps?

The elbow needs male connectors both ends.

Correction!!!

The elbow needs a female for the mixer connection and a male for the hose connection...

Standard chrome elbow then....take a few pictures and let us have a look

It's usually better looking to put up with the loop. I have seen 2m shower hoses, somewhere.

As requested, a nice shot of the offending. I'm now wondering if there's enough clearance for an elbow??? huh
