Where can I find out what symbols on electical items mean ?

One I am looking for at the moment is:

Outline of a house with an arrow pointing inwards low down.

It is on a Enlite Dimmable Electronic Transformer "ENSC60"

while I'm at it - two upside down triangles each with a "M" in

Also, any info on these - can they be used in loft under insulation ?

It means the transformer is suitable for use indoors only

Not sure on that one

Also, any info on these - can they be used in loft under insulation ?

It is unlikely as the transformer will not be able to dissipate the heat that it generates whilst in use.
